Scottsdale is truly a golfer?s paradise. With dozens of highly ranked courses situated within a 20-mile radius, the dedicated golfer has a multitude of options. Troon residents, however, probably won?t choose to go very far. That?s because the golf and club facilities of the Troon communities are widely recognized as some of the best golfing in the country. All three courses, the Monument and Pinnacle at Troon North and the Troon Country Club, have consistently won awards and top ratings from industry press and professionals. For those who don?t golf, the Pinnacle Peak Park, adjacent to Troon, provides ample opportunity for outdoor recreation. Pinnacle Peak itself is a large, desert landform made of granite, feldspar, mica and quartz. The park is a natural habitat for many desert animals and plants, from mountain lions and desert tortoises to ocotillo and palo verde trees. Today, the park is used mainly for exploring, hiking, rock climbing and horseback riding.
